**tell

●暗に知らせる intimate; hint (at)…; drop a hint; suggest

・前もって知らせる give sb previous notice; forewarn 《sb of a matter》

・1 か月前に解雇を知らせる give 《an employee》 a month's notice

・警察に知らせる report 《a theft》 to the police
